Lochee High Street was traditionally a thriving company town which boasted the largest factory in the world during the 19th Century, with its huge linen mill, the chimney stack of which still stands today. Brutal housing and commercial development in the area during the late 20th Century has seen the High Street descend into a run down area particularly susceptible to crime.

The local authority commissioned a regeneration scheme to the High Street area in 2009 and we took reference and paid homage to the shop frontages of Lochee’s prime. Security was obviously still an issue, however sensitive location and concealment of security items and the utilisation of new security technologies, meant a return to attractive open retail frontages, providing a more aesthetically pleasing shopping environment.
