This commercial development project consists of converting an existing furniture sales store into six commercially managed kitchen units. Planning approval and building warrant approval were granted in 2019 with construction works set to start in Spring 2022.

Working closely with the client and commercial kitchen specialist to establish the brief, the aim was to prepare a proposal for six commercial kitchen units with a central reception and delivery waiting area to create an efficient system for proprietors to prepare, cook and deliver food orders as smoothly and efficiently as possible. The kitchen units have been designed in a variety of sizes and specifications to be able to accommodate a multitude of tenants’ requirements. Each kitchen has associated store room spaces and office space as well as the necessary ancillary spaces to create a happy community space for proprietors to operate within.

The works will involve demolishing all of the existing internal partitions and stripping the building right back to the core building concrete structure. There after structural alterations to the concrete floor and roof will be made to accommodate the industrial grade hob extracts after which the new internal walls will be constructed and the finishes installed creating a functional and clean working environment.

The building design will consist of six purpose built commercial kitchen units and will provide a welcome and friendly framework for the catering community to perform much-needed offsite food preparation, cooking and delivery.
