We’re Hiring!

We are a friendly, design-based studio on Castle Street and our portfolio of work includes exciting new projects within the Residential, Industrial and Commercial sectors, and ongoing projects within the Education, Hotel and Arts and Culture sectors, based primarily in Scotland, the UK and Caribbean.

We are seeking a positive team player who shares our passion for creating great architecture and can play a key role in the delivery of our expanding portfolio.  We require someone who is highly motivated and analytical in their thinking, a fully qualified architectural technologist or technically orientated Part 3 architect with several year’s experience in practice, who will enjoy all aspects of design, technical detailed design as well as overseeing projects on site during construction.

Some aspects and responsibilities of your role may include;

  • Becoming an integral member of a design team on our larger multi million pound projects working directly with and learning from all other members of the team.

  • Design, document, and execute multiple simultaneous high-quality projects by collaborating with internal and external teams.

  • Build close working relationships with a team of related professionals, including our clients, other design consultants, engineers, cost consultants, construction managers, surveyors and local authority representatives.

  • Producing detailed design proposals, building warrants and planning applications and make any necessary corrections and adjustments.

  • Compile project specifications.

  • Monitor of project budgets and timescales.

  • Ensuring that all works are carried out to a high standard, building codes and regulations.

  • Undertaking site visits to monitor and report on a project’s construction status.

  • Keep up-to-date on architectural trends and advancements through CPD learning. We encourage and have allocated funding in place for staff to further their own education and interests, and feed this back for the benefit of the rest of the practice.

  • Contributing to administrative duties, office culture and social activities of our practice. We believe that the best way for our team to learn is by encouraging involvement in all aspects of the management of the practice, and nurturing their enthusiasm. We run an open and transparent policy with our staff on all projects and matters concerning the management of the practice.

We are looking for the following criteria in candidates;

  • Technical Architect, Part III technically oriented Architect, or Architectural Technologist qualification with several years experience in practice.

  • A strong, appealing portfolio of your own work to prove artistic skills and competence with IT, CAD, 3D and presentation software.

  • Excellent design skills with good 3D rendering presentation techniques. Good experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup and Adobe Suite are required.

  • A thorough understanding of 3D / BIM software, extensive experience with the Scottish Building Warrant System and construction detailing.  Experience within the industrial / logistics sectors would be advantageous.

  • Good time-management and problem-solving skills with the ability to take the initiative and think differently.

  • Be receptive to instruction, and friendly in your approach to working with like minded professionals.

All members of our team benefit in the experience of dealing directly with our clients and consultants, so a good balance of friendliness and professionalism is critical. The office and project structure allows for a friendly, focussed and loyal team culture, great project experience across all work stages and excellent opportunities for career progression.

We take pride in our work and love what we do, with a relaxed office atmosphere, and we are seeking someone who will enjoy working with us and contribute to the ambitions of the practice.
