Marine Hub
Nanny Cay, South Marina

  • Location: Tortola, British Virgin Islands

    Client: Nanny Cay Marina

  • A state-of-the-art Marine Hub will welcome visitors at the South Marina of Nanny Cay. The facility is designed to inspire and educate the next generation of sailors and marine enthusiasts. This contemporary hub is tailored to provide comprehensive marine and sailing training for children of all ages, from beginners to budding young professionals.

The innovative design is inspired by the marina, with a sweeping sail providing shelter from the elements above an outdoor classroom. Internally, large windows that offer panoramic views across the marina and ocean beyond, allowing natural light to flood the space. With sustainability in mind, the structure will utilise eco-friendly materials, aligning with its mission to foster environmental stewardship among young learners. A sea turtle area has also been incorporated into the design which includes a number of rehabilitation pools, with soft landscaping and information boards, which will serve to inform and educate all marina visitors.

In addition to sailing, the hub will offer a range of workshops, ensuring that students develop well-rounded maritime skills. There will also be water sports programs, including swimming and lifesaving to further build confidence and love for the ocean. Children will also be able to participate in after school clubs, summer camps and regattas, building not only their sailing skills but also teamwork, leadership, and resilience.

Beyond the technical training, the new Marine Hub fosters a community atmosphere, linking with local organisations, where young sailors and marine enthusiasts can form lasting friendships while learning the importance of marine conservation and responsible sea navigation. With a focus on adventure, safety, and sustainability, The Hub is the perfect place for children to discover the joys of sailing and develop lifelong skills, all while fostering a deep connection to the ocean and the environment.
