Project Details.

Location: Edinburgh, UK
Construction Value: Not Disclosed
Client: Private Client

Our client appointed us to carry the project forwards from Stage 4A (Building Warrant) through to Stage 6 (Handover and Close Out).  Planning Consent had already been approved for this residential extension project, which proposed a new 2-storey side extension to the North side of the existing property in Trinity, Edinburgh.

We worked closely with the client to further establish the brief for the project.  It was proposed for the extension to be built over the existing single storey structure, which will hold a new Study on the ground floor, with a Family Room opening from an existing Dining Room.  The first-floor will accommodate a new Master Suite which will be accessed from a new opening in the external wall (knocked through the existing Study) which will be opened up to form an enlarged landing area.

The Building Warrant was expedited by working closely with the client and the Structural Engineer, and we managed to secure full consent in less than 2 months from initial submission. This success was particularly crucial as we were granted the Building Warrant just prior to the first covid lockdown. This allowed us to progress the detailed design and tender process, being ready to start work on site as soon as measures were partially lifted.

Work on site began early 2021 as all parties were keen to have certainty on timescales during the pandemic. We worked closely with the contractor on the health and safety measures which were aligned with the government guidance and this lead to quick progress on site. Work was completed in August 2021.

The property now boasts high extremely standards of contemporary living which can be enjoyed by the client and their family.
