The client’s primary desire at Denholm Road was to extend the ground floor of their 3 bed, semi-detached home to create a larger kitchen, living and dining space that took full advantage of their south facing garden.

The roof is designed as such to accommodate clerestory glazing that provides natural ventilation through two electronically operable windows and to create a variation in space and light to the living / dining room.

The large double sliding doors open into the depth of the external walls thus creating an unobstructed link to the garden. The extruded square window is designed as an internal window seat to maintain the connection to the garden even on wet days.
