This dilapidated brownfield site in north west London which abuts Brondesbury overland station was to be redeveloped, replacing 3 small single storey retail units, with 2 larger units and 11 flats above.

The building relates to the adjacent urban block with an expressive C shaped rendered plane, which encapsulates the residential upper floors and punctuates the urban terrace, whilst physically turning its back on the rail tracks to the opposite side of the development.

The rhythm and materials of the adjacent buildings are reflected in the main element of the street façade’s upper floors, whilst more modern aesthetics and materials have been introduced to the flank walls, penthouse and roof.
